Resplendent Quetzal

The Resplendent quetzal is a stunning bird with vibrant feathers of blues, crimsons, and bright greens. It lives in tropical, mountainous areas such as some places in Mexico and South America and love areas with plenty of fruiting trees. They are relatively shy and only come out in early dawn.

For people who know about them, they are regarded as one of the most beautiful birds in the world and to some local cultures they represent freedom, beauty, divinity and luck.

Sadly they are endangered and their conservation status is vulnerable, I chose to paint one because I felt like they are often overlooked.
